Context and need
TRUTH Construction & Development designs and builds homes, residential developments and infrastructure in Lubumbashi and Kolwezi. The company needed an online presence that matched the quality of its work, in French and English.
In this market enquiries happen on WhatsApp and many clients have no e-mail address, so the site had to lead to a conversation rather than a form, and load quickly on mobile connections.
Our contribution
- Bilingual static site: home, company, projects, expertise, commitments, contact and seven project pages
- Full-screen home page with a project slideshow, a transparent header over the photograph and a pause control
- WhatsApp as the main route: every button opens a conversation with the subject already written, including from each project and each service
- Photo galleries with a keyboard and swipe viewer, a schematic map of the projects and an office map loaded on request
- A cost-per-square-metre estimator, ready to switch on as soon as the company supplies its rates
Designing for everyday use
- WhatsApp, telephone and an e-mail address to copy: no account and no form to fill in
- Static pages with no framework or dependencies, light on mobile connections
- Blurred previews of about one kilobyte, so the home page shows the photograph's colours before it has loaded
- An English version for mining clients, expatriates and the diaspora
What you can explore
The demonstration copy reproduces the site as delivered, with the company's real information, and every page can be explored. Its WhatsApp, phone and e-mail buttons are disabled so your testing never reaches the client.
Delivery and operation
- Vercel hosting with HTTPS and automatic deployment from the GitHub repository
- A dependency-free Node generator: one command rebuilds the whole site
- Canonical URLs, Open Graph tags, schema.org structured data and a sitemap
- A branded share card for links sent on WhatsApp
- Contact details, WhatsApp number and domain kept in a single configuration file
- No database or application server: nothing to back up or restart
- Photographs taken from the company's own profile, no stock imagery
- Motion switched off for visitors who prefer reduced animation
